TBDMSA softball coaches gathered tonight for a
preseason meeting aimed at preparing for the upcoming season and ensuring a
smooth start for teams. The meeting brought together coaches from U3 to U19
divisions to review rosters, discuss key logistics, finalize game schedules,
and discuss best practices for player safety and development and team
management.
With enthusiasm building for the new season, coaches also shared ideas and strategies to promote sportsmanship and maintain a competitive yet respectful atmosphere on and off the field.
Ryan Shea from South Simcoe Physiotherapy hosted an excellent session on player safety notably concussion awareness and heat exhaustion versus heat stroke.
A major focus of the meeting was the explanation of several new rule changes set to take effect this season. These included adjustments to pitching regulations in U10, shared practices and substitution rules to improve player development and fair play. By aligning on the new rules early, the group hopes to minimize confusion and maintain fairness throughout the season.
