Outcomes from the 2023 TBDMSA Annual General Meeting
On behalf of the Tottenham-Beeton District Minor Softball Association (TBDMSA) Board, thank you is extended to all the Delegates and attendees for taking the time to attend and participate in the 2023 TBDMSA Annual General Meeting.

The 2023 Annual Report is now available on the TBDMSA website.

The TBDMSA is pleased to announce its 2023-24 Board of Directors, effective immediately.

*       Notices of Motion that are marked with an Asterix were rejected as exactly proposed however discussions on these proposals occurred to make revisions to these proposals that were all CARRIED.  A complete description will be forthcoming however in the meantime, this is a summary of the changes:

·        Rule 1 - Player Eligibility:

o   An addition of a U21 division.

·        Rule 8 - Length of Game:

o   A U7 game may consist of a maximum of three (3) innings will be considered official when a minimum of· one (1) complete inning has been played.

o   A U7 game will permit a Coach to pitch to their own team but each player will get a maximum of five pitches to hit and if not successful in hitting the ball, the player will be ruled out.   The Umpire keeps track of pitch count and calls outs at the bases.

o   A U7 game will permit every player bats each inning.

o   There will be no score kept in U7 games.

·        Rule 8 – Length of Game:

o   Including the time limit of 1 hour and 25 minutes to U7, U10, U14 games.

o   Increasing the time limit of 1 hour and 55 minutes for U19 and U21 games.

·        Rule 32 – Sliding:

o   Players may not slide into first base unless avoiding a tag.

o   All other sliding rules are as per Softball Canada rules.

·        Rule 35 – Overthrows:

o   U5/U7: Baserunners may not run or advance on a base on any “wild throw” or “overthrow” at the time of the throw.

o   All other division rules for this will be as per Softball Canada rules.

·        Registration Requests:

o   There will no longer be a Player Registration Request form.  Any special requests will be directed to the Registration Coordinator for Board Consideration.

Registration for the 2024 season opens February 1.  We hope to see you on the diamonds this summer!
