TBDMSA Select Softball Program
Launching for the 2026 Season
The Tottenham Beeton District Minor Softball Association (TBDMSA) is excited to introduce the TBDMSA Select Softball Program, launching in the 2026 season. This new program is designed to provide motivated athletes with an enhanced development experience and a competitive pathway beyond house league, while continuing to support the long-term growth of softball in our community.
The Select Program offers players the opportunity to train, develop, and compete at a higher level through additional practices, exhibition games, tournaments, and participation in provincial competition across Ontario through the Ontario Select Softball Teams Association (OSSTA).
“This program represents a major step forward for softball development in our association,” said TBDMSA President Kevin Boston. “The Select pathway allows motivated players to challenge themselves, gain valuable competitive experience, and proudly represent TBDMSA at tournaments and provincial championships.”
Select Divisions & Player Eligibility
The initial rollout of the TBDMSA Select Program will include the following divisions:
Girls
- U11 (2015–2016 birth years)
Boys
- U9 (2017–2018 birth years)
- U11 (2015–2016 birth years)
- U15 (2011–2012 birth years)
TBDMSA recognizes that many OSSTA associations have well-established windmill pitching programs, particularly at older age groups. As the Select Program grows, player development and pitching experience will be key focus areas as we build competitiveness in our early seasons.
Coaching Applications & Team Selection
Coaches interested in leading a Select team will be required to submit an application to the TBDMSA Board. If multiple applications are received for the same division, shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in an interview process with board members.
Player evaluations will be conducted through two to three tryout sessions, with a minimum of two tryouts guaranteed for all registered athletes. This approach ensures a fair, transparent, and consistent selection process.
Proposed Roster Sizes
U9 & U11: 13 players
U13*, U15, U17*, U21*: 12 players

Season Structure
Select team tryouts are expected to take place in April and May, with the competitive season including:
- 4–6 team practices
- 2 exhibition games (home and away)
- 1–2 tournaments
To be eligible for OSSTA Provincial Championships, teams must participate in a minimum of two OSSTA-sanctioned tournaments during the season.
Financial Overview
Program costs—including diamond time, umpires, exhibition games, tournament entry fees, and uniforms—will be covered through tryout fees and Select team registration fees once rosters are finalized. Teams will also have opportunities to participate in fundraising initiatives and sponsorship partnerships to help offset overall costs.
